If you’re going to head to the Yukon in the winter, you might as well mush a dog sled. Eva Holland and I spent an afternoon at Muktuk Adventures and it was all kinds of fantastic.

Epic views, humane owners and 50 or so of the most amazing canines you’ll ever meet make dog sledding in Whitehorse a must-do. Don’t let the speed scare you. The only real danger is passing out from the smell of dog farts blowing into your face.

A week in the Yukon changes a man. It turns him into a man with hundreds of pictures of the Yukon. Thankfully, he can edit them down to just the best. From frosty landscapes to Klondike karaoke to dog sledding, it was an epic trip.

Brutally cold temperatures (think -20C) and long walks can deplete your body’s energy reserves. Bundle up and take a nap on that frozen pond that you’re crossing to recharge your batteries. Just be sure that it’s fully frozen before you walk out there.

How’d the SkyRest handle the Yukon winter? It made sleeping on a pond look (and feel) cool.
